Bergen's unique buildings
Bergen is the capitol of the fjord region. It is a 900-year-old Hanseatic town, a shipping port operated for many years by German merchants. Buildings in the town are unique and typical of those seen throughout Norway. The painting below in the Hanseatic Museum shows what the port looked like in its heydays.

St. Marys church St. Marys church
St. Mary's church is one of the landmarks in Bergen. Norway has many churches but they are more often used for performances, meetings and weddings than church services.
Fresh seafood Sunset
Fresh catch-of-the-day seafood is the order of the day at the fish market along the Bergen harbor where, if a traveler is lucky, he can see a beautiful sunset over the bay.
