Copenhagen shopping area Copenhagen is a very modern, bustling city. A focus of the center city is a multi-block shopping area open to pedestrians. There are squares and parks throughout the city which bring people out to not only shop but to visit and explore.

Nyhavn area
The area at left, known as Nyhavn, is the site of what has been called the world's longest bar. The cafes and bars along the canal have outdoor seating and the area is the site of much late night revelry.
Tivoli Park
One of the fun places in Copenhagen (at right) is Tivoli possibly the world's oldest and best known amusement park. The park features live music, rides, and circus type acts, and lots of good food.
Spiral church tower Church interior
The adventurous can climb all the way to the top of this spiral church (at left) if they want to walk up over 400 steps. Or they can just enjoy the beautiful altar inside the church featuring many beautiful angels.
Little Mermaid
A must-see feature of Copenhagen is the famous Little Mermaid statue along the coast not far from the center city. The statue is based on the story of the Little Mermaid by Denmark's famous writer Hans Christian Andersen.
Carlsberg Brewery elephant
If this elephant looks a little tipsy it's because he is. He is one of a quartet of elephants that holds up part of the Carlsberg Brewery, another favorite stop for tourists.
Wind farm
Denmark is really into using wind power for meeting its energy needs. The Copenhagen harbor is lined with wind farms.
