Ledgerwood House - 1348 North Washington Ave.
Ledgerwood House

The building was built by James M. Ledgerwood in l914. He was an engineer for the Frisco Railroad. Benjamin S. Terry purchased the property in 1919 who was an abstractor for Land Title Co. Hal Woodside, bank examiner, purchased the property in 1927.

This Foursquare style house has classical details and is a contributing structure to the Mid-Town National Register District. It is two and one-half stories with a hipped roof. It is a good example of houses built by the developing middle-class at the turn of the century. The eaves have decorative carved modillion brackets. The porch has round Tuscan columns and the balustrade has turned balusters. There is a pediment over the porch entrance. The windows are large with one over one lights and the siding is wood lap.
