Meador House - 1655 East Walnut St.

Built in 1923 of Spanish influence, the house contains some brick walls of the old farm house on the site. Dr. L.E. Meador taught government and political science at Drury College some 50 years. He was a talented and popular speaker, helped write a new State Constitution, and was chairman of a committee which drafted Springfield's charter for the council-manager form of government.
