Coffey/Headley House - 1536 North Benton Ave.
|
||||
This house is one of only a few remaining that were actually built in the town of North Springfield. It was built by Lafayette Headley, one of the first railroad officials in the area, in 1877. It was purchased in 1901 by Ellen Coffey, wife of John Coffey, a Frisco railmaster who worked his way up through the ranks. St. John's Episcopal Church acquired the house in 1965. It was torn down in the 1990s. Approved: 1/12/81 |
