Missouri's own Harry Truman was a frequent visitor to Springfield, both while he was president and after he retired. He always drew many well-wishers. His last visit here in the 1960's was to dedicate the new National Guard Armory. |

Tennessee Ernie Ford helped turn the spotlight on Springfield when he broadcast his national television show live, and in color, from the Drury College fieldhouse. The broadcast was in connection with the opening of the Breech School of Business at Drury. |

People of all ages were thrilled by the Blue Angels flight team when they put on a show here. But there is a group of youngsters who were on a Kiwanis Club ball team that will especially remember the event. |
