"Must-sees" in Rio |
||||||||||||||||||
The unique Metropolitan Cathedral stands out as one of Rio's "must-see" sites. It was designed by the same architect who designed Brazil's new capitol city, Brasilia. It features four large stained glass walls. In the bottom photo it is seen next to an old viaduct which once brought water to the city. It now serves as a platform for a trolley system. | ||||||||||||||||||
Rio is a heavily populated city with houses hanging from the hillside like some ancient Indian village. In the big city, even graffiti can become artwork. |
