The Amazing Iguazu Falls
The Iguazu Falls which straddle the border between Argentina and Brazil provide an experience that no one will forget. Forget Niagara Falls, these are the widest in the world. There are almost 250 falls, as high s 200 feet, that stretch for almost two miles. The immenseness of the falls and the thundering sound they make can overwhelm you. On the Brazilian side it's an easy walk along the river with a chance to go out on overlooks for a close-up view. You come away soaked, but excited, from the mist created by this mass of water. |

To get to the falls on the Argentinean side, visitors must first take a train ride and then walk for quite a distance on steel mesh walkways to the cataract. But it's worth the effort because it puts you right on top of the massive falls where you again get soaked. Another portion of the trip there puts one in just the right spot to observe the many rainbows that develop from the sun and the mist. |

The adventurous (at left) can get "up close and personal" with the Iguazu Falls by riding a rubber boat which takes its passengers right up to and under the falls. What a shower! It's an unforgettable experience.
