Peebles/Burgin/Baldwin House

The house was constructed by William S. Peebles in 1891, an optician who ran his business from this house. Harry B. Schmook, a machinists for New Phoenix Foundry located at Water St. and Benton Ave., purchased the house in 1895. Alonzo Burgin purchased the property in 1922 and lived in the house until 1976. Burgin ran a fruit market on South Jefferson. Randall and Sonja Baldwin purchased the property in 1986.
