O'Day/McGregor Carriage House - 1435 East Walnut St.
|
|||
This two story structure is among the best preserved and most decorative carriage houses to survive in the city. It is known as the Arch McGregor carriage house since Mr. McGregor is the person remembered who last occupied the residence at 557 St. Louis St., the former address of the property that was the Thompson Sales Company. The house at that address was built by J.W. Powers and his wife in 1889. He was president of the Central Bank. Later it was occupied by John O'Day a leading lawyer and attorney for the railroad. The carriage house was moved to present location in 1984. Approved: 4/4/83 |
