Milligan/Knauer House - 1500 East Meadowmere St.
Milligan/Knauer House

This large castle-like home located in Meadowmere Place was built by Alva T. Milligan in 1910-11 on ten acres. Mr. Milligan sold the house and 3 and 1/2 acres to W. W. Woods who owned it until l905. Mr. Lincoln Knauer then purchased the home for his family. After his death in 1974 his wife moved to the remodeled carriage house and one of the daughters, Mrs. John Bentley, and her husband, Dr. John Bentley, and children moved into the house.

The exterior of the home is brick and retains much of the original architecture. The kitchen area and third floor have been remodeled and the other areas restored.
