Martin Building (Capistrano's) - 216-218 South Campbell Ave.
Martin Building

Indications are that the building was constructed in the early 1870's perhaps as a residence and was being used commercially as a boarding house by 1896. During restoration efforts it was discovered that there had been two windows to the outside on the north brick wall. It appears that the front third of the building was an addition as was the outside brick wall now standing to the north between the building and Frank's Uniform Store. The legal description of 1911 indicates ownership of the south wall of the Straley Restaurant building leads to the assumption that the north wall and front were added in conjunction before 1911.
