Holland/Davis/Bingman House - 635 South Ave.
Holland/Davis/Bingman House

This house was built about in the early 1800s by Charles McCann. Successive owners have included H.H. and Kate Simmons (1883), Charles Thrasher (1884), Merrit Logan, Dr. William and Rosa Beatie (1924), and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Davis. At one time street cars ran in front of the house. There was an old stable behind the house which is gone. A Civil War cemetery bordered the lot at one time (the land was in the middle of the Battle of Springfield) but was moved to National Cemetery. The house has since been divided into apartments.
