A recent visit to central India and to neighboring Nepal resulted in a big case of cultural shock but provided a unforgettable window into lands of great contrast.

There was beauty amongst filth; wealth amongst poverty. And there was an understanding of history that could only be gained by being there. You have to experience the beauty and purpose of the Taj Mahal, the cultural importance of the River Ganges, and the elegance and beauty of old forts, palaces, and temples to understand India and Nepal. Only after seeing a public cremation can you understand the native way of living and dying.

The tour took us to six Indian cities and the capital of Nepal. By clicking on the buttons at left you can find out more about these countries and their culture.
