Highlights of Lucerne include the Lion Monument, top left, a memorial to Swiss warriors carved in a granite hillside and the two covered bridges linking the town across the Reuss River. The bridge above is 560 feet long.
Lake Lucerne

Lucerne is located on Lake Lucerne, one of the largest lakes in Switzerland making the city a favorite vacation spot. Still remaining (above) are many of the towers which once protected the city.
