Olendorff/Haden House - 931 State St.
|
||||
This house is a late Victorian vernacular cottage, one-and-a-half stories high, located in the middle of a once flourishing middle-class neighborhood in what was then southwest Springfield. The land originally belonged to Daniel Fulbright. In 1904, the property was bought by Arthur Olendorff, and he built a cottage for speculation on it. It was rented by Dr. A. L. Anderson for a period. The house was bought in 1913 by George and Martha Williams, grandparents of Mrs. Charles (Georgia) Sheppard. Approved: 8/20/84 |
