Innsbruck was once the capitol of the Tyrol region of Austria. It has twice been home to the winter Olympics.

The city, an 800-year-old university town, has numerous buildings dating from Austria's cultural renaissance. This includes many fine churches.

Tourists and local fun-lovers crowd into the Center City each day.

On the road to Vienna you pass the large, beautiful Abbey of Melk (above) and a statue representing Richard the Lion Hearted (right) who was captured and imprisoned in Durnstein while returning to England from the Crusades.
