GRANT BEACH PARK WORLD WAR I WAR MONUMENT

LOCATION: Grant Beach Park in north Springfield, located just west of Grant Avenue, between Hovey and Calhoun Streets.

INSCRIPTION: "IN MEMORY OF THE MEN OF SPRINGFIELD WHO DIED IN SERVICE IN THE WORLD WAR IN THE CAUSE OF LIBERTY. ERECTED BY BUSINESS WOMEN'S CLUB, KIWANIS CLUB, KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS, LIONS CLUB, ROTARY CLUB, AND UNIVERSITY CLUB."

The marker contains the names of 66 Springfieldians who died in World War I.
