Ferguson/Vincent/Plank House - 1337 North Washington St.
Ferguson/Vincent/Plank House

The house was constructed by David Ferguson in 1891. He operated a grocery store at the current location of Boyd Elementary school and was the Justice of Peace between 1899-l903. J. Z. Dixon purchased the house in 19G3 and he was a bookkeeper for Heer Dry Good Store and Springfield Paper Company. Frank F. Vincent, County Surveyor, purchased the house in 1951. His grandson, Ralph Plank, purchased the house in 1986.

The house is a two story house with Italianate details. The house has lap siding. There are single story bay windows on the north and south elevation and they have decorative brackets and applied wood molding. The window trim boards have applied wood molding and cutout frame decoration. The corner trim boards are treated as pilasters. The windows have two-over-two vertical lights. The main entrance has single-light double doors with a two-light transom. There is iron ridge cresting at the roofline.
